1. Who We Are
TruPlot is an AI-powered land verification and GovTech platform headquartered in Nigeria, currently in pilot in Oyo State. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "TruPlot," "we," "us," or "our" refers to TruPlot and its founding team.
We are committed to handling your personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019, the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, and applicable international best practices.
Our data protection contact: truplot.ng@gmail.com
2. What Data We Collect
During our current pre-launch phase, we primarily collect information you voluntarily provide when joining our waitlist, requesting updates, contacting us, or expressing interest in becoming a beta tester. Specifically:
- Waitlist sign-ups: First name, last name, email address, state of residence, and user type (buyer, agent, or government).
- Beta tester interest: Whether you opted in to participate in our beta programme. No additional data is collected at this stage beyond your waitlist details.
- Contact form submissions: Name, email address, subject, enquiry type (e.g. buyer, agent, government), and message content.
- Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, browser type, and approximate location (country level), collected via standard server logs. We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website and improve the user experience. No individual profiles are built from this data.
- Land query data (future platform only): When TruPlot's verification platform launches, we will process GPS coordinates or addresses you submit to perform land checks. We will not store this data against your identity without your explicit consent, and this policy will be updated to reflect those services.
We do not collect payment information through this website. Payment processing, when introduced, will be handled by regulated third-party processors.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To add you to our waitlist and notify you when TruPlot launches in your state.
- To contact beta testers for product testing invitations.
- To respond to contact form enquiries.
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it (aggregate, anonymised analytics only).
- To comply with legal obligations where required.
We will never send you unsolicited commercial emails unrelated to TruPlot. We will never sell your data to advertisers or third-party marketers.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the NDPR and NDPA, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:
- Consent: You voluntarily submit your details via our waitlist or contact form. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
- Legitimate interests: We use anonymised analytics to understand website performance. This does not override your privacy rights.
- Legal obligation: Where we are required to process or retain data by applicable Nigerian law.
5. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Google Sheets / Google Workspace: Waitlist submissions are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to TruPlot's founding team.
- Email service providers: We may use a transactional email provider to send you launch updates. Your email will not be used for any other purpose.
- Government partners (future): When TruPlot's GovTech services go live, some data related to land registration may be shared with the relevant state land ministry as required to complete a registration transaction you initiate. This will be explained separately at the point of use.
- Legal requirements: Where required by a valid court order, subpoena, or applicable Nigerian law.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Waitlist data: Retained until TruPlot launches in your state and for up to 24 months thereafter, or until you request deletion, whichever is sooner.
- Contact form data: Retained for 12 months after our last correspondence with you, then deleted.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised. No individual retention limit applies.
7. Your Rights Under NDPR
As a data subject under the NDPR and NDPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to our legal obligations.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your rights have been violated.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at truplot.ng@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Rights Request." We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls limiting data to authorised team members, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), and avoiding storage of sensitive data (such as financial or identity documents) on this pre-launch site.
No internet transmission is completely secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately at truplot.ng@gmail.com.
9. Cookies
Our website currently uses only essential session cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we introduce analytics tools (such as privacy-first analytics), we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent.
10. Children's Data
TruPlot is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted data through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
As TruPlot evolves and new features become available, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect additional services and data processing activities. We will always notify waitlist members by email of any material changes before they take effect.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Continued use of TruPlot's website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
